Create a Surviving Spouse Profile

When a member passes away, and the spouse will remain active in the group as a spouse, and may attend events where spouses are invited, create a new profile for the spouse.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Admin Control Panel > MEMBERS > click ADD MEMBER.

2. PERSONAL

A. Select Member type*. Check boxes for Guest or Distinction* if appropriate.

B. In the first name field enter spouse first name. In last name field enter spouse last name with 
"- Surviving Spouse", or preferred wording, after.

Complete entering the desired remaining information > click SAVE.

IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT ENTER HOME EMAIL or COMPANY EMAIL ADDRESS to avoid the surviving spouse receiving emails intended for members only and login issues. See next step.

3. COMPANY. Leave all blank. Enter spouse company information under FAMILY > Spouse Company.


4. FAMILY

A. Copy/paste the spouse information from the existing deceased member profile > click SAVE.

TIP: Enter the surviving spouse email address here ONLY. This way the spouse receives emails intended for spouses and not members.

B. Click Set Spouse User Name & Password.

C. Change spouse user name and password to the same spouse user name and password found in the deceased member profile, so spouse may login using the new profile easily > click SAVE.

5. PHOTO > upload spouse photo or send to us and we'll color correct, crop and upload.

6. OPTIONAL: ACTIVITIES > enter year joined and "Honorary Member" or preferred title.

7. For the deceased member profile there are two options:

A. Make profile inactive.

B. Keep profile active with "In Memory Of" and "(19XX-2020") added to name fields or preferred wording (see Honoring the Death of a Member).

Remove ALL email addresses (member personal, company assistants, spouse, spouse company, spouse assistant, children) from the deceased member profile.
